Guilt Free Raw Brownies

Raw foods (and especially vegan desserts) are traditionally not thought of as a cure for the sweet tooth cravings that plague many dieters.  This recipe for raw brownies is not only a fix for that but it also tastes good enough to fool anyone into thinking they must be bad for you.  With only 3 ingredients (and four if you venture out on your own and add protein powder) this recipe is super easy to have these in a hurry when the sweet cravings come on strong.

Here is what you’ll need:

  • 2 cups walnuts
  • 2  1/2 cups of dates
  • 1 cup raw cacao powder (find at any health food store)

Here is how you will do it:

  1. In a food processor (or blender) grind the walnuts until finely chopped
  2. Add in the dates 2 or so at a time until fully blended into the chopped walnuts.  You may or mat not need to pulse the blender to get them fully incorporated
  3. Now toss in the cacao powder and blend (or pulse) until mixed evenly with the dates and walnuts (you may also add a little protein powder for some muscle brownies!)
  4. Press the dough into a 8×8 pan and refrigerate until desired consistency is reached.  You may also eat them right away like I do
  5. Smile and enjoy 🙂
